Andhra Paper resumed manufacturing operations after the strike was called off

A prominent player in the paper and pulp industry, Andhra Paper Limited (APL) has resumed manufacturing activity in their plant after calling off of the illegal strike.

In a letter to BSE, APL mentioned that the management has withdrawn the lockout at the Company's manufacturing unit at Rajahmundry, East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh with effect from April 25, 2024 at 10.00 P.M. This is in response to the calling off of the illegal strike by the Workers' Trade Unions which was continuing since April 2, 2024. The workers have reported to work as per their shift schedules and resumed their duties.

Consequently, the Kadiyam Manufacturing Unit has also resumed its manufacturing operations with pulp supply now restored. 

Earlier, the Board of Directors of Andhra Paper Limited (APL) has decided to declare a lockout w.e.f. April 24, 2024 at 3.00 P.M. at the Rajahmundry Unit and it shall continue till further notice in this regard. Due to their continued illegal strike and unlawful activities of stoppage of work and considering the prevailing situation and keeping in mind the safety of employees, plant and machinery, materials and other assets, the Management has decided to declare a lockout w.e.f. today i.e., April 24, 2024 at 3.00 P.M. at the said Unit and it shall continue till further notice in this regard.
