Alica Kraft paper starts production with a capacity of 100 TPD

Strong demographic and economic prospects will help grow demand for packaged, processed foods and beverages in India for the next five years. This will drive the growth of the corrugated packaging industry in India. However, the corrugated packaging segment is highly fragmented in India and populated with many small, inefficient, and stressed companies.

“India corrugated box industry is an inevitable part of the manufacturing sector which relies heavily on corrugated packaging for finished goods transportation and handling. India corrugated box industry grew from at a CAGR of 23.3% in terms of revenue. We are very happy to be the part of Indian paper industry. We recently started the production of kraft paper that mostly used in packaging industries and box making”, said Mr. Sagar Sitapara, Director at newly started paper mill Alica Kraft Paper Pvt. Ltd.

Situated at At.Kerala (Haripar), Morbi, Alica Kraft started its 100 tpd production in January 2020 and is utilizing 100% recycled fiber as raw material.

“Our utmost priority is to produce and deliver quality products. To do this, we use a superior grade of raw materials, services of highly skilled people and sophisticated technology in the product development process,” Mr. Sagar told.

Alica Kraft Paper Mills is now producing various grades of packaging paper from 100 to 180 GSM up to 16 to 18 BF. The new paper mill has 3.4 Meter finish deckle size. “We have completely installed indigenous paper machine bought from Excel Paper Tech, Ahmedabad,” Mr. Sagar informed.  

Mr. Sagar further said that “In order to ensure the safety and security of all our employees, we have set up a fully equipped Safety Department has trained and qualified professionals. We have a fire brigade of our own and have positioned hydrants at strategic locations throughout our manufacturing unit. 

Our production standards meet the requirements set by the Pollution Control Board for the treatment of air and water-based effluents,”

Alica Kraft is also exporting paper to various countries.

The Indian corrugated paper packaging industry is projected to grow at a 7.6% CAGR for the next five years due to strong demographic and economic prospects. India is among the fastest-growing economies in the world, with a per capita income projected to increase by 50%, to USD 3,000 by 2023. India is also home to the largest growing pool of young, income-earning consumers (median age of 28 years). Moreover, the current urban population (33%) will grow to reach 40% by 2025
